Our designs pay tribute to some of the most innovative and unique knives throughout history. Since knives have always been essential tools for survival, we like to combine traditional, historical knife design elements with modern, sustainable materials.

Our knives are utilitarian tools, designed to never let you down and to keep on cutting and chopping when other knives fail. Our public production runs are limited to 600 knives.

Inspired by the Viking saxe knife.

Kalina is a tribute to on of our co-founders wife who inspired the creation of DICEROX. We looked to create a simple, strong, resilient every day carry knife that fits the flow of daily activities. From cutting cartons, ropes, seat belts to feathering and light processing, Kalina was designed to handle every day carry needs for the rest of your life.

The superb corrosion-resistance, edge-retention and the sheer strength of Vanax steel makes Kalina perfect for everyday use as a utility knife for prepared citizens and excels in its role as a tactical knife for first responders.

The name Kalina originates in Bulgaria and means guelder rose.

Lagertha brings the same qualities of corrosion resistance, edge-retention and the strength you can find in our everyday carry model, Kalina, to bushcraft and outdoor lovers. Lagertha was designed to offer a traditional and robust bushcraft knife that will see you through any survival or camping experience. Let’s put it this way – we’d take Lagertha with us when bugging out from the Zombie Apocalypse.

Lagertha was a Viking shield-maiden and ruler of what is now Norway,  and the one-time wife of the famous Viking Ragnar Lodbrok. According to modern scholarship, it is likely that Lagertha was not a real historical figure, but a reflection of tales about Viking warrior women or about the Norse deity Thorgerd. Her name as recorded by Saxo, Lathgertha, is likely a Latinisation of the Old Norse Hlaðgerðr (Hlathgerth).

Our steel

Our knives are produced using Uddeholm’s ELMAX and VANAX steels from Sweden. These steels are renowned in the knife community for their strength, anti-corrosion and edge-keeping properties.

We believe that ELMAX and VANAX are amongst the finest, toughest steels on the planet. All DICEROX knives undergo final heat treatment under the watchful eyes of Uddeholm, delivering consistent results every time. In this way you can be sure that your DICEROX knives are amongst the best in the world.

Uddeholm’s Vanax SuperClean is a Cr-Mo-V-N alloyed steel characterized by:

  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • High mechanical strength
  • Good ductility
  • Good mixed wear resistance
  • Good through hardening properties
  • Good dimension stability at hardening

Via a process route based on powder metallurgy a high nitrogen steel is produced with unique property combinations of hardness, wear resistance, ductility and corrosion resistance. In Uddeholm Vanax SuperClean most of the carbon is substituted by nitrogen, modifying the traditional chromium carbides into carbonitrides. These carbonitrides are less harmful when it comes to corrosion resistance compared to chromium carbides.

Uddeholm Elmax Super Clean is a powder metallurgically produced mold steel characterized by a combination of superior wear and corrosion resistance along with dimensional stability. It is recommended for long production runs of smaller and complicated shapes.

  • Less wear because of good wear resistance
  • Less indentations because of compressive strength
  • Less maintenance because of corrosion resistance
  • Less adjustments after heat treatment because of good dimensional stability
